The McChord Thrift Shop loves to give back! Take a look at the different programs the MTS has in place to be a support to our community.
AIRMAN’S ATTIC VOUCHER PROGRAM
Are you a part of an organization that supports military families and/or programs on or around the JBLM area? Could your organization benefit from a donation of funds to help continue your mission, fund an event, or purchase needed supplies? The MTS has a program for that! We grant donations of funds to these types of organizations monthly. To apply for such, download and fill out the FUNDS REQUEST FORM and submit it either in person during store hours, by mail (PO Box 4025, McChord AFB, WA 98438), or to our email at mcchordthriftshop@gmail.com.
These requests are considered and granted or denied at each monthly MTS Board Meeting. All requests submitted prior to the MTS Board Meeting will be considered. To ensure that your request is considered in time for the needed funds, it suggested that requests be submitted at least 2 months prior to the needed by date. Forms must be completed in full, or they may be automatically denied. While McChord Field does not currently have a traditional Airman’s Attic, the MTS does provide a similar resource through our Airman’s Attic Voucher Program. Through this program, active duty airmen (E5 or below) assigned to JBLM can receive a $25 “voucher” to the MTS, which acts as a giftcard. With that they can purchase from the donation & clearance sections in our store. No referral necessary. To sign up, see an MTS manager during business hours.
For those with exceptional need beyond a $25 voucher, a referral from a First Sergeant, Supervising NCO, and Chaplain is needed. Please contact an MTS Manager with any questions, or to initiate the referral either by phone (253-982-2468) or by email (mcchordthriftshop@gmail.com).
In an effort to support our local JROTC and Civil Air Patrol programs, the McChord Thrift Shop has a voucher program to supply CAP & JROTC with free or reduced-price uniforms on a quarterly basis. These donations help offset the cost of uniform items for the program participants, so that they can stay equipped to fulfill their mission.

As the MTS cycles through donated items on our sales floor, we clear out items that have had ample time to sell, but have not for whatever reason. Many of these items are still in functional condition and could be of benefit to others. In an effort to reduce waste and further support our community, the MTS is always looking for local charitable organizations that would be able to put these items to use. Items that may be available include: clothing and shoes of all sizes, plates, cups, tableware, kitchen appliances and tools, household linens and bedding, toys and games, health and medical supplies, electronics, garage and lawn tool items, and luggage and backpacks. If you are part of an organization that may be able to put these items to use supporting our local community, please fill out the form at THIS LINK and we will be in touch to discuss potential donations!
